In this video, we show you everything you need to know, from initial preparations to removal.
The IontoPatch™ is an extended, time-released, transdermal drug delivery system. The innovative, self-contained battery produces an electric current to deliver drug molecules non-invasively across the skin to underlying tissue. The battery and control are built into the patch. There is no need for an external battery, dose controllers or active monitoring during delivery.
Prepare the site by trimming hair, cleaning the skin, and drying the area thoroughly.
Dry thoroughly. DO NOT use an alcohol wipe to clean the skin prior to patch application.
Fill the opposite electrode with approximately 1 ml of enclosed saline. Start at center of pad and fill towards outer edge, leaving 3mm unfilled around pad perimeter to keep liquid from contacting the adhesive. You will NOT use all the saline provided. Discard the remaining saline.
Position joint midway through full range of motion to find placement area.
Remove backing and place patch in desired location with medication electrode over treatment site.
Secure patch by running finger around perimeter and outer edge. Do not press center of electrodes during initial application — this could compromise adhesion by forcing liquid on the adhesive.
